Imagine the eye or the retina as a cake. The cake has a top, a bottom and it
has layers inside it.

2D scan - A 2D scan also known as a 'fundus' scan takes a detailed picture of the top of the cake (retina). A normal optometrist would see this as a size of a coin with standard but old technology. The 2D scan allows Andersen's optometrist to see a large image on a 19" monitor improving the detection of eye problems.

3D OCT - The 2D technology is limited because it can only view the top of the cake, but with the world's first 3D OCT Andersen's optometrist can now view each and every layer of the cake (retina). This enables the detection of deeply embedded eye problems well before they begin to affect the top of
the cake or retina.
