Eye Care at Andersen Opticians

Professional eye care seen through fresh eyes

We have three levels of eye examination to suit your requirements:

Standard Eye Examination: Fulfils the basic regulatory measurements required to qualify for an NHS eye test.
Advanced Eye Examination: This is a longer appointment lasting between 30 and 35 minutes. In addition to the standard examination, this includes more advanced tests and a 2D assessment of the retina using a fundus camera, which allows us to view the back of the eye, without eye-drops. A picture of the image taken by the camera is given to the patient.

3D OCT Examination: As the Advanced Eye Examination but also includes an assessment of all the layers of the retina. The image is seen as a three dimensional image. The 3D OCT facilitates an extensive analysis of the retina, allowing abnormalities to be detected early. These abnormalities would not normally be visible when using an ophthalmoscope or a fundus camera. This examination lasts between 40 and 60 minutes. A CD of the scan results found from the OCT machine is also given to the patient – this examination could save your eyesight.
